You qualified NEET but got a low score that won't fetch a government seat. MBBS abroad is the most affordable, NMC-approved path forward β here is exactly what to do.
First β NEET qualification is mandatory
Per NMC rules, every Indian student going abroad for MBBS must qualify NEET (achieve at least the qualifying percentile). Without NEET qualification, the foreign degree will not be valid for FMGE / NMC registration in India.
Why MBBS abroad makes sense at low NEET scores
If your NEET score won't get a government seat (cutoff is around 600+ for general category), private medical colleges in India typically charge βΉ80 lakh β βΉ1.5 crore. The same NMC-approved MBBS abroad costs βΉ25β35 lakh total. Same degree, same FMGE eligibility, much lower cost.
Choose country first, then university
Decide budget, climate preference and course duration first. Russia and Kyrgyzstan are budget-friendly. Georgia is more European. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are 5-year options. Belarus is highly structured and disciplined.
Avoid common traps
Don't pick a university only because the agent is offering a discount. Don't pay any 'donation' or 'capitation' β government universities don't take donations. Don't pick a university just because a friend went there β check current FMGE pass rate.
Plan FMGE from day one
Treat the 6 years as FMGE preparation from day 1. Build anatomy and physiology fundamentals well in the first two years. Take FMGE coaching seriously from 4th year. The students who plan FMGE early are the ones who clear in the first attempt.
